“It is an honor to be able to shed light on our Revolutionary War Patriots in this way, ensuring that their legacies grow on forever more!” – President General Pamela Wright

The Daughters of the American Revolution’s Pathway of the Patriots project was born of a want to honor the many brave Patriots who fought for American Independence in a physical and lasting way.
Beginning in 2018, this project has had many phases, originally planned for Pennsylvania, the opportunity arose to set the memorial in Yorktown, VA where General George Washington and the Continental Army vanquished Great Britian’s General Cornwallis. It is fitting to have a living memorial in this historic place.
By 2026, 250 trees will be planted in honor of 250 Patriots, in time for the Semiquincentennial Celebration of the United States’ founding!
This project is a collaboration between the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution and the American Battlefield Trust, with the trees being planted on Trust owned land, and maintained by Trust employees. The funds for this project were raised among DAR members, and each of the 250 Patriots honored has details of their lives laid out for all to learn about.
