Private Nathan Gould was born January 8, 1733, in Boxford, Essex County, Massachusetts.

He married Martha Gilbert on October 31, 1757, in Brookfield, Worcester County, Massachusetts, and they resided in Charlemont, Hampshire County, Massachusetts. Gould died on September 14, 1816, in Virginia. Based on old records, several members of the Gould Family are buried in the Old French Creek Cemetery in Upshur County, West Virginia, but the gravestones either no longer exist or are readable.
