British-sympathizing American Indians and British nationals carried out an attack upon the Spanish garrison based at Arkansas Post on the Arkansas River.
Jardelas did not survive to see the Americans take over. He was a Corporal 2nd Class, Arkansas Post Militia from 1780–1782. The Company of Militia of the Post of Arkansas and the report of the officers, sergeants, corporals and militiamen who formed this company were reviewed by the head of the militia on July 4, 1782, and certified by the acting Commandant Luis DeVillars. Pierre Jardelas was buried in the cemetery of the Post on April 1798.
